Theatregoers from all over the country keen to take in some of the UK's most prestigious theatrical productions can now book overnight packages for the 2008 Chichester Festival Theatre's summer festival.

The Chichester Festival Theatre in West Sussex is one of the UK's flagship theatres with an international reputation for world-class productions and its summer festival, from 28 April this year, promises a packed and innovative programme.

Visitors to the theatre from out of town can take advantage of the Overnighter Theatre Breaks scheme, featuring great value stays at the region's top hotels and B&Bs. Prices start from £72 per double room per night including breakfast and theatre tickets. While the Overnighter Midweek Savers offer further savings with half price theatre tickets for performances in the main Festival Theatre available Monday to Thursday.

From classic drama to fresh, contemporary works and a big summer musical, the line up is as diverse as it is rich. Festival 08 features a number of world premieres and new adaptations, including Ronald Harwood's play Collaboration - a new companion piece to Taking Sides. There are new versions of Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard and Luigi Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author as well as Tim Firth's new adaptation of the film Calendar Girls.

Aside from the theatre there is an abundance of culture to be enjoyed in the district and on any given stay there is plenty to indulge in, with venues such as Pallant House Gallery and West Dean - The Edward James Foundation - both of which are showcasing a series of high profile events and exhibitions in 2008 cementing the area's rich cultural arts offering.
